Millions of Americans are discriminated from employment based on their credit report score and or the lenght of unemployment. This prevents a large group of the workforce away from positions were their experience and education would be of great use to our society. Most of these Americans have defaulted from their credit obligations due to long periods of unemployment that have rendered unable to fulfill such obligations. It is counter intuitive to discriminate against individuals who if employed would be fulfilling these obligations and further penalize them with their exclusion via discrimination from their participation in the job market. The impact of ending this types of discrimination would be greatly positive for the economy.
