End the Cuban embargo, repeal both the Helms-Burton Act and the Cuban Democracy Act.

Created by J.L. on December 28, 2012

I call a petition to end the long standing United States Embargo against Cuba first imposed in 1960.

While the political views of both the United States and Cuba do not align, it is in the best interest of both countries to end the embargo. It would enrich and diversify economic trade in both countries, while allowing separated families to reunite and increase tourism in both countries.

The Helms-Burton Act and the Cuban Democracy Act have been associated with the Embargo, the former ostracizing any non-US company that trades with Cuba and the latter prohibiting citizens to travel to Cuba.

These are silly laws, and I feel deprived as a citizen by being restricted to where I can and can not travel to.
