Let's Stop Changing Our Clocks Twice A Year!

Created by T.D. on October 17, 2015

On November 1st, 2015 we gain an hour, which sounds really nice at first. But we lose an hour of sunlight in the evening. This is annoying and makes no sense. It is one of those traditions we do because, "it's always been that way".

I propose we keep the winter time the same as the summer time. If the system stayed the same the shortest day of the year, Dec 22, 2015, sunrise would be at 7:17am and sunset would be at 4:32pm. However, if we kept time same as the summer, then sunrise would be at 8:17am and sunset would be at 5:32 pm.

I believe most Americans would rather the time be the same year around. We would much rather have an extra hour of daylight when we get off work vs. in the morning.

Thank you.
