End "Daylight Saving Time!"

Created by R.C. on March 10, 2014

Every year the American people "spring forward" and lose an hour of sleep. In the Fall we "fall back" and "gain" that hour back.

It's supposed to save energy and "help the farmers," except we failed to take into account the cost of interrupting America's sleep schedule. That interruption results in sleepy people, which in turn results in less productivity and more traffic collisions. Heart attacks increase by 10% on the Monday and Tuesday after we spring forward.

If being on Daylight Saving Time actually saves energy, then leave the clocks set on DST and don't "fall back" in November. If there is no energy savings, then adjust the clocks back to standard time.

It is long past time to end the twice a year ritual of springing forward and falling back.

Pick a time and leave it.
