We the people ask the federal government to Propose a new Administration policy:

End Daylight Saving Time (DST)

Created by H.A. on November 07, 2016

Daylight Saving Time is an archaic time standard born out of the rationing of energy (coal) during World War I and WWII; and then early consumerism and the 1970s energy crisis. It has no significant or measured benefit in our society today.

States including Arizona, Hawaii, and all US territories do not observe DST. In addition, the majority of the world's population does not use DST.

DST disrupts travel, record keeping, medical equipment, sleep patterns and causes health issues. It causes an increase in heart attacks, sleep disorders and suicides directly following the change. It has been shown to increase energy usage and traffic air pollution. It's thought to cause billions in economic loss. It disrupts farmers and parents of young children. Overall, DST causes unnecessary complexity.
