Daylight Saving Time, that device by which we lose an hour in spring and gain an hour in fall, is an outdated concept. These days, with energy use dependent upon such always-on devices as modems, routers, gaming consoles, chargers, and so forth, time changes do nothing to curb energy use as they were once intended to do. In fact, they do more to disrupt the average person's day, and the productivity of businesses around the time change, than they help.
