The original goal of Daylight Savings Time was to reduce evening usage of incandescent lighting but with advancements in technology this is no longer necessary. The downside of changing our clocks in the 21st century far outweighs the few benefits we receive. They complicate timekeeping and can disrupt meetings, travel, billing, record-keeping, medical devices, heavy equipment, & sleep patterns. Software can often adjust computer clocks automatically but this can be limited and error-prone, particularly when DST protocols are changed. Changing our clocks twice a year is an antiquated, time consuming, confusing, & wasteful tradition that needs to end.
