Daylight Savings Time no longer serves its initial intent, which was to conserve energy used by incandescent light bulbs. Changing the time on a bi-annual basis interferes with schedules, is burdensome to business and is not helpful to farmers. Surely, our great government can think of a more practical method of reminding citizens to change the batteries in their smoke alarms.
