Daylight Saving Time is a relic of the early 20th century, now harming people and the economy.
The initial goal for DST was to reduce energy costs. However, evidence shows that due to our change in lifestyle in the 21st century, DST is responsible for an increase in electricity usage, fuel consumption, and energy prices.
There is also a link between DST and an increased rate of heart attacks, suicides, sleep disruption and a lower quality of life.
Other factors to considers:
68% of countries don't use DST & only 1 in 5 people observe DST.
14 countries recently stopped observing DST.
There is a loss in productivity during the switch to/from DST.
There are technological costs caused by DST.
People spend less time out, and thus less money flow into the economy, when the Sun sets early.
