End Daylight Savings time changes.

Created by E.L. on March 14, 2012

We the people believe the administration should end the Daylight Savings Time changes. Specifically, we should remain on Daylight Savings Time (summer time) year-round, although winter time year round is an acceptable alternative. The change is disruptive.

Although an early goal of starting DST was to reduce electricity use due to lighting, usage patterns in modern times have changed.

One of the common arguments in favor of changing the clocks for winter is that children will need to go to school in the dark if we do not make the winter change. Many children already go to school in the dark, even with the clock changes. If a school district has specific safety needs requiring school to open with the rising sun, districts are free to modify schedules on a case by case basis.
