End the death penalty

The death penalty is an unethical punishment that often uses unjust biases such as race, wealth, and intelligence to convict the sentenced. When considering giving a person the ultimate punishment (death) these should not be factors considered. Since a bit after 1970 more than 150 people have been found innocent (who were previously sentenced to death) of the crimes they were charged with because our justice system failed to correctly convict them. The death penalty does not follow the Eighth Amendment. In recent years, prisons have had trouble paying for and acquiring the correct lethal drugs to perform executions. As a result, they have created concoctions of the drugs, which have resulted in slow and painful deaths. Help end the death penalty today by giving your signature.
