This petition is to bring attention and awareness to the costly, barbaric, and old fashioned measures used by some states in killing its criminals. The death penalty in some states has been proven not reduce or repel crime in any way. It is more costly than the life sentence, and cannot by overturned after it is given. A federal nation wide ban on the death penalty would promote inmate correction, human rights, and a better respect for the life.
