Crude Oil prices are at historic lows because Saudi Arabia and other OPEC nations are over supplying the market for their own long term gains. Of course we all like low gas prices however it will be short lived and will be controlled again by the Middle East. Currently while many North American oil producers are going bankrupt putting strain on our economy we are still importing millions of barrels of oil into the US. This must stop today. I propose we put an emergency import tax on every barrel of oil imported into this nation outside of North America to save our economy and protect our national security.
