End discrimination against Felons.

Many felons who might not otherwise re-offend are discriminated against in a tough job market and denied basic civil rights even after they have served all jail time and paid all fines. The government does not give us our civil rights, but as the Bill of Rights proclaims, they are god-given. If the government does not give us our civil rights, it should not be allowed to take them away. There is little that can be done to change a culture of discrimination against felons in the search for housing, unemployment, and higher education, but the government should get out of the business of institutionalizing this discrimination by also denying felons civil rights. The right to vote, the right to own guns, and the right to earned federal benefits should not be infringed, under any condition.
