During the past 20 years, hundreds of thousands of Americans lost their I.T./technical jobs - offshored to India/Phillipines for cheaper pay, after we were forced or tricked into training these offshore workers. This caused huge gaps in our resumes because no one was hiring Americans here for similar jobs. The job market in I.T. is opening up, yet companies won't hire us displaced workers because we have gaps in employment. Unemployment is running out and many of us are in our 50's or 60's and it is too late to be retrained. Companies snub us in favor of workers with current experience. Are we to just roll over and die? We're still paying on our student loans to0-with no job! We need incentives to hire us and fines if they don't. Everyone talks about lost mfg jobs but we are forgotten.
