The Civil Rights Act of 1964 protects discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, and or national origin. This petition would proposes adding sexual orientation to those group protected from discrimination under this act. Adding sexual orientation would prevent discrimination of LGBT Americans in housing, healthcare, and other environments where LGBT discrimination exists today.
We must act now to protect freedom and equality for all Americans IN ALL 50 STATES. No state should stand for hate. Protect LGBT Americans from discrimination by amending the Civil Rights Act to include sexual orientation as a protected class.
