Common among many bi national gay couples, my husband and I are living outside the United States. Until recently, a path for us to live together in the US was not possible. We are currently living in Belgium and are happy here.
My husband, who is Brazilian, still requires a tourist visa to go to the United States. He was denied this visa because he did not have significant ties to Belgium.
In a traditional marriage between a man and a women, giving a visa to a house wife would not be an issue. In our case, because he is a man, the interviewer said "What are you doing here if you don't have a job?" We are here to be together. My husband will not meet my family, or my friends in the US. We cannot apply for a green card unless we intend to move, and we are happy here. Please help.
