Many sectors in the travel industry, including hotels and cruise ships, charge from 150% to 200% of the original price if a person is traveling alone. Travel arrangements are based on 'double occupancy' and include hidden ways to charge fees based on that. This excludes a great deal of the population who enjoy traveling solo. The only way to not pay a supplemental charge is to either seek out a traveling companion (not always possible) or to contact an agency that will pair you with a stranger to share the fees (not always desirable OR safe!). It is an unfair practice that should be eliminated. Many more people could afford to travel and thereby put money into the economy if this discriminatory practice was abolished. Being single is NOT a crime & it should not result in penalizing fees!
