In America, a group of shrubs known as Bush Honeysuckle has become increasingly invasive, to the point that it prevents growth of natural species of plants. This destroys the diversity and composition of a forested community resulting in the decline of important species such as varieties of Oaks and Hickories. These shrubs grow quickly, are shade tolerant, and are bird-dispersed making them quick to move locations and invade more area. By outlawing the distribution of this plant (no selling) and the subsequent planting of them will help reduce the rate at which Honeysuckle spreads.
