Gerrymandering effects every American citizen, and is a repressive practice that has gone on for far too long. Allowing politicians to chose their voters, rather than the other way around, is the inexcusable cancer of democracy that comes to mind when people think of falsely democratic nations. It has no place in a true democratic republic. I ask Congress or the White House to take the necessary steps to allow districts to be drawn by apolitical committees in ways that make sense for the governing of the district. When 435 seats are up for reelection in the House, more than 25-30 of these seats should be competitive for the health of our nation.
