The Diversity Visa Program was enacted by Congress in 1990 in order to provide 55,000 visas annually to nationalities deemed under-represented in the United States. Attempts have been made to abolish or reform the Program but have failed.
The United States is the most diverse nation in the world where every nationality is colorfully represented and respected. However, a majority of Americans are unaware of the Program's existence and the fact that the Program is being unlawfully abused through continued and expansive public assistance fraud. Additionally, the ease with which false identities can be obtained in countries of 'under-represented' nationalities is a reality. Thus our borders and economy remain compromised while most Americans remain woefully uninformed of the issue at hand.
