The "Don't Say Gay" bill forbids teachers from discussing homosexuality before grade 9 and states that "informational resources that are inconsistent with natural human reproduction shall be classified as inappropriate". This is almost enforcing ignorance of the lgbt community.
In addition, the bill requires teachers and counselors to inform parents if their child is gay (Referred to in the bill as "urgent safety issues involving human sexuality") before the child is ready to come out of the closet. This can be emotionally devastating for lgbtq children, especially if their families do not approve.
This bill has already been passed and will take effect on July 1st, 2013.
