Over the past decade the United States has killed thousands of people in drone strikes that are inaccurate, unethical, and counterproductive. A recent Stanford/NYU study (livingunderdrones.org) reported that drones hit only 2% of ‘high priority’ targets. Many strikes have been intentionally directed at homes, public spaces, and funerals. In addition, the Obama administration “counts all military-age males [killed] in a strike zone as combatants” (www.nytimes.com/2012/05/29/world/obamas-leadership-in-war-on-al-qaeda.ht...). Political analysts have argued that the strikes violate both domestic and international law. Moreover, civilians living under drones are exhibiting signs of psychological trauma and hundreds of children have been killed.
The U.S. must stop using drones!
