End Drone Strikes in Yemen

Created by J.P. on February 14, 2015

US drone strikes are hurting the Yemeni people. According to a report by Peter Schaapveld, 92% of Yemenis suffer from PTST. As stated by Rooj Alwazir, the "civilian casualties and constant fear and anxiety has a profound long time psychological effect on those living under drones." Many Yemenis are scared to send their children to school because of fears the AQAP militants will hand their children AQAP propaganda, which they believe will be enough to make them targets. In total, around 600 civilians have been murdered in these attacks. Sometimes, they are merely in the wrong place at the wrong time, other times it is guilt by association. Ali Al-Qawly was killed because he offered a ride to jihadists. While these attacks appear successful, they actually create recruits and US hatred.
