The federal government has spent 45 billion in economic, and military foreign aid to other countries in 2009. This figure is lower than the 49 billion spent in 2008 under the Bush administration. The major recipients of this foreign aid were Afghanistan(8.9 billion), Israel(2.2 billion) West Bank/Gaza strip (1 billion), Iraq(2.2 billion) Pakistan(1.7 billion), Egypt(1.7 billion) , and Sudan(1.2 billion).
The total for the aforementioned nations is 19 billion, more than 42% of all foreign aid went to middle east regions. Sudan being the exception, although a close neighbor in Africa. Almost 8% of the total went to Israeli areas.
Drastically cut foreign aid to all nations, especially the Middle East.
