The Electoral College was created, during a time when there was no internet, TV or cell phones. The average American knew very little about the candidates. The framers of the constitution, feared folks voting for candidates that they knew nothing about. The framers also, only wanted land owners to vote. The also created Electoral Votes for individual people, giving a single person too much power .
Nowadays, the point to the Electoral College is moot, and takes away the true meaning of our vote. A President should be elected by the people and ONLY the people, Eg. The Popular Vote!
