The electoral college makes no sense and disenfranchises voters in more-populated states. Originally a concession to convince small states to join the nation, the electoral college violates the Fourteenth Amendment by making voting power unequal in different states. Individuals in the state with the least population have the greatest voting potency, or, in other words, the more populated your state, the less influence your individual vote has on the results of the election. That is the constitutional argument. The commen sense argument need only recognize that only the popular vote should be the deciding factor in the election--whichever candidate receives a majority of votes, wins. Anything besides that simple count distorts the free and equal voice of the people.
