The technology now actually enables us as a society to count and record every vote from every person thus rendering the electoral college useless and irrelevant. Electronic voting machines are easily hacked and a source of fraud. The electoral college was used as a way to collectively vote when technology wasn't available to count each vote. We can use the time gap between the popular vote and the electoral college vote to actually count the popular vote. End the circumvention of the popular vote by way of the electoral college.
