End the embargo against Cuba

Created by P.S. on January 11, 2013

The embargo against Cuba, which started in 1960, no longer makes sense, if it ever did. Cuba is no longer supported by the now defunct Soviet Union, nor is Fidel Castro still in power. There are other communist countries, such as China, that we continue to trade and have open travel policies with. We are only hurting ourselves and the innocent citizens of Cuba.

2009, U.S. polling indicates that the American public is currently in favor of ending the embargo, (51% end vs. to 36% continue.) In January 2012, an Angus Reid Public Opinion poll showed 57% of Americans called for ending the travel ban that prevents most Americans from visiting Cuba.

Let's end the embargo now and allow travel and trade with Cuba once again.
