end excessive domestic surveillance programs.

Created by D.H. on June 06, 2013

Sixty years ago, our nation was filled with fear. Not just fear of the bomb, but fear for our domestic freedoms. McCarthyism meant you could be arrested for your political views. All in the name of "National Security".

Where are we now? We have unrelenting rhetoric about vague outside threats. We use drone attacks to kill US citizens abroad. And we collect surveillance on millions of US citizens.

The NSA (with Obama's approval) has ordered Verizon to hand over daily records on all telephone connections, foreign and domestic (http://bit.ly/15CLn7j). If you're on a Verizon plan, the government knows who you've been calling, for how long, and from where.

This is unacceptable. End domestic abuses of power, that our government might truly be of, by, and for the people.
