Capital punishment is a failure, in that it does not prevent crime- In fact, the crime rate has fallen even as the amount of executions has too- It is more expensive than imprisonment based on appeals, and the majority of United States citizens are opposed to it.
This petition asks for an amendment to the United States Constitution that prevents capitsl punishment under United States law.
