Millions of Americans live abroad in foreign countries. However Americans who live, work, and pay taxes in other countries are required to pay tax to the USA with huge extra burdens of the horribly disorganized IRS requirements on expats that forces them to spend thousands of dollars a year on specialized CPA's.
To add insult to injury a vast majority of expats are allowed to write off their entire salary earned outside the USA, however due to the extreme complexity and lack of support for foreign tax filers many often find that they are on the wrong side of huge IRS fines.
