End Federal Flood Insurance Subsidies Which Encourage Building in Flood Prone Areas

Created by E.A. on November 29, 2012

Federal Flood Insurance is used when no insurance company would risk insuring a flood prone property. The beneficiaries are largely the very rich who can afford beach front property. The government now is liable for over $500Billion worth of property. Rising seas and more intense storms will drastically increase the payouts. This program should be ended, and the money should be allocated to buy out property owners and end flood insurance subsidies.
