We believe the $220+ million Los Osos wastewater project is ineligible for federal stimulus money. Though Los Osos residents approved AB2701, which handed over the responsibility of designing, building an operating a Los Osos, California sewer to San Luis Obispo County, the project achieved funding and permits under false pretenses -- and without a guarantee that the sewer would resolve issues with the town's groundwater. Please review this project (which will cost residents in an economically depressed area of town more than $200/month), and cut all of its funding as soon as possible.
