End the federal intimidation of states requiring a drinking age of 21

In 1984 the federal government passed the National Minimum Drinking Age Act which required all states to increase the drinking age from the common 18 or 19 to 21. To ensure compliance any state with a lower drinking age would be subjected to a 10% decrease in its annual federal highway funding. For nearly 30 years the federal government has intimidated states into an unjustifiable drinking age. This is a blatant violation of states and personal rights. It is time for change. States have the right to determine their own drinking age and no state law should be based on federal level intimidation. We urge the Obama administration to consider this unjust law and push for states' rights.
