End any federal restrictions on the sale, ownership and carrying of pocket knives, including automatic ("switchblade") knives and "gravity knives" (butterfly knives & similar).
The laws that ban these knives are unfair and do nothing to maintain public safety. An automatic or gravity knife is no more or less dangerous a weapon than a standard pocket knife.
The aspect of these knives that makes them the subject of scrutiny is that they may be opened quickly and one-handed. However, many "manual", non-gravity knives can be opened one-handed just as easily and quickly as a switchblade or butterfly knife.
These knives are no more dangerous than their manual counterparts.
I propose no change regarding the restrictions on carrying knives in gov't buildings/airports and so on.
