Marijuana is currently classified as a Schedule I drug by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).
DEA is empowered to re-evaluate and reclassify marijuana as a scheduled or unscheduled drug.
Therefore, we respectfully request the President of the United States to order DEA to reschedule marijuana to make it an unscheduled substance.
Doing so will be a noteworthy demonstration of respect for the rights of states to regulate and tax marijuana.
