end the federal prosecution of Matthew R. Davies for legally selling cannabis to medically licensed patients in CA.

Created by S.A. on January 14, 2013

Matthew R. Davies, an entrepreneur in California, opened a set of legal marijuana dispensaries. He followed all state laws, and brought in accountants and lawyers to make sure that all procedures were followed. His employees loved him. He's now facing up to 15 years in federal prison. His story, from the New York Times, is at http://nyti.ms/ZNmj9i. He operated his business as openly and fairly as any other business, filing all appropriate documentation, paying all taxes, and complying with all applicable laws. With President Obama announcing that the U.S. Department of Justice has "bigger fish to fry" than to contravene state decisions about the legality of marijuana use, it's time to end the prosecution of Mr. Davies, and end federal prosecution of similar business owners and employees.
