Reform government expenditures rather than cutting social spending. Social programs are depended on by a large swath of Americans and cutting funding to them would only be detrimental to the country as a whole, as poverty rates would rise, along with homelessness. Pell grant funding should increase, along with other grants for children from low-income families wishing to attend college. Grants should also be made available for single mothers to attend a local college in order to get a degree.
