Children and families across America are suffering from food insecurity. Provide more funding to public schools for low income children and families to be able to have meals, every day, year round. Start now with nightly dinners at public schools and send families home with additional foods. This program must be sustainable and available in all communities across America immediately.
In 2010 14.5 percent of households were food insecure at least some time during that year. 5.4 percent of households experienced food insecurity in the more severe range, described as very low food security. (USDA.gov website)
