The Government of the United States has:
1. wrongfully and illegally detained individuals, removing them from their families;
2. subsequently cleared 86 of the remaining prisoners for release;
3. continued to detain them despite having cleared them for release; and
4. force-fed them for protesting their indefinite detention.
It is time we stand up and tell the Government of the United States that we will not allow it to continue to violate its obligations under numerous human rights treaties, including the Convention Against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment.
