We petition this administration to immediately end the force-feeding of detainees held at Guantánamo Bay. We believe that this practice is cruel, unjust, and immoral and agree with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, and the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights that this behavior is a violation of human rights law. We support increasing transparency on the treatment of detainees, and request that the Obama administration establish a timeline for the release of detainees.
