End the Fur Trade Altogether

Created by T.M. on November 01, 2011

85% of fur in the U.S. comes from fur farms where the animals live in the smallest cages or dark, filthy sheds or barns where they can barely move and have to live in their own urine and feces. Fur farmers also use the cheapest and most inhumane ways of killing these beautiful animals including suffocation, gas, poison, electrocution, or simply holding them down and skinning them alive.
The Truth in Fur Labeling act (which was passed last year) just simply isn’t enough. It may help the consumers identify real fur; but it doesn’t end the horrific killings of these innocent animals. We need to end the support of animal cruelty altogether in this country. We can start by ending the fur trade, and announce our support to a fur-free country, and be a leader for other countries to do the same.
