Rather than forcing the DoD to furlough employees because of your failure to pass the budget, we propose that the USPS be privatized and its infrastructure auctioned off to whichever parcel carrier (UPS, FedEx, etc.) desires it. In essence: The furlough only saves $1.8 billion, whereas the USPS lost nearly $16 billion. If the government removed that loss, they could bring all the furloughed employees back to work.
