The GOP has gained and maintained House control by silencing urban populations, minorities, and young people by their methods of gerrymandering and rigging elections by creating conservative districts. This last election shows the popular choice of the people, but Republicans are trying to change the electoral system by attributing votes by district rather than by state electorate. If this happens, elections would be rigged to support GOP candidates and would silence urban populations, minorities, young people, and (effectively) the majority. A candidate could handily win the popular vote, but lose the election.
