End the Getty Images Extortion letter: A letter, sent out to small businesses, demanding large amounts of money.

Created by R.C. on August 26, 2013

Getty Images, an image and copyright company based out of Washington, scans the web for images they license, being used without their permission. When they find them, they track down the company using them and send them multiple scare tactic letters, demanding $1000.00 + dollars to settle the fact that the small business in question is in violation of copyright law. - They ask you to remove the image, from your website, and when you do, they still require you pay for even having it up to begin with. They then hire a legal firm, McCormack Intellectual property law PS, to send more threatening letters demanding thousands of dollars to settle the scenario.
