Lobbying by private companies and foreign governments represents a major conflict of interest for members of our legislature. On one hand, they are supposed to represent the people from their respective states and districts in matters of civil liberties and federal oversight, but on the other they are paid by lobbyists to vote positively in favor of private interests that may conflict with the interests of the American people. One good example of this is the fact that Thirty large American corporations spent more money on lobbying than they paid in federal taxes from 2008 to 2010. Why?
Ban lobbying. Give power back to the people. Our opinion is what matters most.
