End Harrasing Debt Collection Practices by instituting far harsher punishments for violations of FTC Guidelines.

Created by S.S. on March 11, 2013

Debt Collectors are still engaging in unfair and unethical practices when trying to collect debts. The punishments for violators amounts to little more than a slap on the wrist. (Countersuit for up to $1000 by the debtor, and unable to collect in court via judgement.) If punishments for collection agencies were to be harsher, such as loss of lisence for collections after 2-3 violations, it might encourage more of them to follow the FTC rules, without pushing the limits.
