Horse soring is intentional pain inflicted on a horse's legs or hooves. This can be done many ways including, chemicals like mustard oil or diesel fuel, or pressure soring. Soring is done to highlight a horse's gait so the horse places higher in shows but it needs to end. The United States Equestrian Federation is the best bet to end soring. USEF picks the judges for each horse show depending on what the judge applies for. USEF needs to make sure judges disqualify horses that get sored, and place horses with natural gates. Many people freak out when people abuse dogs and do everything in there power to end dog abuse so why not do the same for horses? Dog abusers get maximum time in jail and charges, while horse abusers get rewarded. USEF needs to disqualify judges who allow soring.
