Gil Kerlikowske wrote “marijuana use is associated with addiction, respiratory disease, and cognitive impairment.” Statements that hold true for Alcohol, and Tobacco, yet Marijuana related arrests ruin more lives than those three risks combined.
The fact that citizens have been arrested for posession for 70+ years is proof that prohibition has failed.
Our elected officials purport to be interested in the medical potential of Marijuana, yet they actively limit availability of the drug for research by refusing to reschedule it.
With 16 states having pro-Marijuana legislation in place, and more considering the same, it is time the Federal Government rescind its Orwellian stance. We The People request our elected officials give this issue and their constituents the attention they deserve.
